The smartwatch landscape has certainly grown to be more competitive over the past few years, and while long-time players such as Fitbit are on somewhat shaky ground, we’ve gotten some pretty impressive devices from some of the biggest players in the industry. That said, Motorola wants a piece of the action, which is only fitting given that it pioneered some of the earliest smart wearables on the market.
That said, the company recently announced the launch of the new Moto Watch—measuring around 47mm, the new Moto Watch features a classic round face design that houses a 1.43-inch OLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It’s also designed to be durable, with an IP68 rating for dust and water protection.
Inside, the watch packs a wide array suite of sensors including an accelerometer, gyroscope, PPG sensor, ambient light sensor, and an e-compass. Other features include Bluetooth 5.3 and BLE, a built-in microphone and speaker, as well as a battery which Motorola claims can last for up to 13 days of power on a single charge.
The new moto watch will officially arrive in the United States on January 22 in a PANTONE Volcanic Ash colour variant.
