As the photo shows really. I’ve had iPhones for ages and this has never happened- had this phone for about a year now and just went like this when I opened my camera. Rear camera perfectly fine.

Is this a case for taking it to apple to repair- or would it be better if I go to a third-party shop? Apple said it would cost £300+ to fix which I’m certainly not doing unless I absolutely must.
