Leaked Resident Evil Requiem cover art confirms what we suspected all along – Leon Kennedy is indeed going to be a part of the game.
The artwork went live on the PlayStation Store, as confirmed by Eurogamer. It showed the previously announced lead Grace Ashcroft (daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, who features in spin-off Resident Evil Outbreak) with a large image of Leon set behind her.
Resident Evil Requiem has been confirmed to be showing at The Game Awards later this week, and this is presumably when Capcom intended to announce Leon’s inclusion in the game. However, PlayStation has unintentionally jumped the gun.
Back in June of this year, game director Koshi Nakanishi claimed Leon simply wasn’t the kind of person who would “jump at something like a bucket falling”, and therefore making a “horror game based around him” would be tricky.
“No one wants to see Leon scared by every little thing,” Nakanishi said. “He’s actually quite a bad match for horror.”
Clearly, the director was just trying to pull the wool over our eyes.
As well as Grace and Leon, another character potentially set to appear in Resident Evil Requiem was also leaked yesterday (don’t worry, I won’t spoil who it could be here).
Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch on 27th February, 2026, across PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S. Earlier this year, Capcom assured its Resi fans the team is working to ensure Resident Evil Requiem will perform well on PC, after a multitude of technical issues this year with Monster Hunter Wilds.
