Riot Games is secretly working on a new FPS title called “Project T” set in the VALORANT universe, and we may have seen our first look at the game.
As Riot’s anticipated FGC 2XKO continues Early Access, we are already hearing about the publisher’s next project. There’s already whispers of a League of Legends-themed MMO, and now there’s Project L, a shooter set in VALORANT’s dynamic world.
Riot posts job listing for VALORANT FPS project
The gaming community first caught wind of Project T thanks to an official job listing for an Associate Art Director, 3D Character Art for an “unpublished R&D project.” The Riot job said it’s an FPS but also asked for “familiarity with the VALORANT IP.”
After the job listing was reported by The Game Post, Riot removed references to VALORANT in the description. But here’s what it previously said: “Experience creating characters for the FPS genre. Experience working on a highly recognizable stylized game. Experience working with modern game engines such as Unity, Unreal, or proprietary technologies. Familiarity with the Valorant IP.”
What kind of game is Project T?
There was little to learn from the job listing, but it discussed “stylized” humans, creatures, props, and clothing. It’s unclear if these would be new characters or maybe it’s the agents from VALORANT.
Prominent leaker PlayerIGN said that Project T is either an MMOFPS or an extraction shooter. It will have seasons and “personal quarters progression,” which makes it seem like it’ll definitely be competitive.
Project T screenshot leaked, showing secret VALORANT game
Prominent leaker PlayerIGN shared a screenshot of what’s believed to be Project T, which has given us even more information about the secret project.
Here it is:
It’s clearly an early look at Project T, but we can still learn a bit from this image. First, there’s a female character in a red shirt and blue skirt (with a sexy slit). She’s holding a massive purple, blue, and pink rifle, which shows what types of weapons to expect.
We see a text that reads “try that tricked out AR!”, and we see health, armor, weapon icons, and other FPS-like features. While it definitely drives home that this will be a competitive shooter, we still don’t quite know what will make this game special – or even what will set it apart from VALORANT.
For now, nothing has been confirmed about Project T.
